[edit] Deck creation and/or publication process
The idea to create the Alchemisten Tarot, composed of drawings and etchings from the alchemical tradition, was the result of circumstances. In the first edition of Guido Gillabel's magazine "The Hierophant", subscribers were promised an original tarot deck. The person who was supposed to create it backed out, and Guido had to look elsewhere. He contacted his brother Gillabel, Dirk who was well versed in alchemy. After twelve months the "Alchemisten Tarot" was born. All the images were taken from old alchemical manuscripts. Each alchemical image has a striking resemblance to traditional tarot cards.
