Death from the Bosch Tarot
Contents |
[edit] Description
The Bosch Tarot was based on and inspired by the work of artist Jeroen (or Hieronymus) Bosch, who lived in the Low Countries (present-day Belgium and the Netherlands) during the late 15th and early 16th century. His paintings usually illustrate man's sinfulness and malice, and reflect his own rich imagination, containing all sorts of grotesque, imaginary creatures and plants. The art of the Bosch Tarot is not particularly dark, but may seem somewhat unsettling to those not familiar with his work.
