[edit] Description
Mark McElroy's Bright Idea Deck is a brightly-colored "brainstorming Tarot" featuring contemporary images and a multi-cultural cast of characters. While the book and packaging do not reference the word "tarot," the deck preserves the familiar 78-card structure (including the 22 trumps and 56 minor cards) associated with many modern tarot decks. Because the deck deliberately avoids overt religious or esoteric symbolism and contains no nudity, the Bright Idea Deck is particularly useful when working with corporate clients or children.

[edit] Creator's comments
Beyond its utility as a Tarot deck, users report the Bright Idea Deck is a powerful tool for:
- brainstorming - plotting and revising fiction - prompting story ideas - generating options for action - enhancing objectivity - seeing new perspectives
The deck is becoming increasingly popular with writers. [In her blog][1], New York Times best-selling author Linda Lael Miller publically endorsed the deck, noting that she has used it to plot fiction. Bruce Holland Rogers, a two-time Nebula Award-winning author, calls it his "favorite creativity tool."
