[edit] Tarot and music
Various authors have suggested correspondences between tarot and other fields (such as numerology, astrology, Kabbalah, and the MBTI). Music is another area in which correlations have been suggested. Some find this correlation strong enough to make it the basis of a Bardic origin of Tarot.
None of these correlations are intrinsic to Tarot, that remains, in any case, visual when presented as cards or paintings. The concepts that appear to 'guide' visual presentations, however, can also be linked in thought to a wide variety of other fields.
[edit] correlations
Whereas some have created compositions based on an overall sense for certain cards, others have created a listed note-by-note correlation.
For example, Van Leeuwen suggests the following correlations in his book The Complete New Tarot:

[edit] Tarot and Poetry
Possibly the most famous poem incorporating reference to Tarot is T. S. Eliot in his The Wasteland.
Three members of esoteric orders based on the Golden Dawn, William Butler Yeats, Aleister Crowley and Paul Foster Case also included or used Tarot in a significant manner for poetry.
