[edit] Description
The Stairs of Gold Tarotis the most Qabalistic of esotericist Tavaglione's decks and he created it in response to a passage from Dante's Paradiso (Canto XXI):
"Coloured like gold, on which the sunshine gleams,
A stairway I beheld to such a height
Uplifted, that mine eye pursued it not."
Tavaglione describes the Tarot as 78 steps leading to the divine. The Minors are ornate, though nonscenic pips and each of the Trumps is intricately detailed, and elaborately coded with 11 symbols including the card's corresponding astrological symbol, angeliuc information location on the Lurial Tree of Life, Gematric value, as well as corresponding Hebrew, Sanskrit, Latin and Celestial alphabet letters. The deck uses the Continental qabalistic-astro-alphanumeric attributions conforming with the scholarship of Eliphas Levi.
