Talk:Tarot Cards
From Tarotpedia
What kinds of things do we want written about the suits (e.g. "Batons or Wands")? I was thinking perhaps looking at the suit over the centuries: how it started out in name and depiction, and how it developed; and then maybe something more modern, e.g. some suggestions for how the suit relates to a reading (for instance, Cups = Water, and the suit is often associated with human emotions, relationships, etc.)
I'd like to take the step and contribute something to the Tarot Cards section, but I'm a bit nervous because we're stepping into a large amount of opinion here rather than facts about decks, books, and links (which is what I've been doing so far.)
Any ideas?

- In my view, it's important for Tarotpedia to venture into that. Where something isn't universally agreed on by tarotists (which is the case for many things in tarot), that shouldn't make us shy away from writing an article. Where there are prevailing, competing views on an issue, I think that we should give a summary of those views, to present a balanced picture. If wikipedia can manage to have articles on Capital Punishment, Abortion and the like, I'm sure we can do articles on topics where there are differings opinions on the issues. My two cents. --Aquarius Rising 16:28, 29 January 2006 (PST)
Agreed - it would become an empty Encyclopedia, otherwise, and not useful to anyone. By all means contribute, and if aspects are not clear or others can add a balance, great! It will of course take time. As long as contributors and editors keep in due consideration the various views, and try and present even a single view in a balanced and manner considerate to opposing views, the articles will build wonderfully well. --Jmd 02:58, 30 January 2006 (PST)
