[edit] Description
Scholarly text completed by librarian Moakley which identifies Bonifacio Bembo as the painter who executed the artwork of the Visconti-Sforza Tarot and connects the Major Arcana to the Triumphal processions and Carnival traditions of the Italian Renaissance. Her theories have been challenged by recent scholarship, but many of her observations continue to provoke discussion.
