[edit] History and Description
The Tarot Garden (Giardino dei Tarocchi) was created by Niki de Saint Phalle with the help of husband Jean Tinguely and others. The Garden is open to the public and contains playful, brightly colored sculptures and buildings, based on the Major Arcana of the Tarot and often of monumental scale. Work started in the seventies, and at one point during construction, Niki de Saint Phalle even lived inside the sculpture of The Empress. The drawings of the Niki de Saint Phalle Tarot were based on the contents of the Garden.
