[edit] Description

The Tarot Tribute To Giovanni Boldini is a beautifully produced deck of Trumps, created by the director of Museo dei Tarocchi, and artist of inMani Tarot, Morena Poltronieri . Boldini [1] is a beloved Italian artist who became wildly popular in Paris and was considered the most fashionable portrait painter in high society France during the late 19th century. The art in this deck highlights some of Boldini's most cherished works. Ms. Poltronieri has collaged additional symbology in with Boldini's work to add meaning and nuance to some of the cards. Each trump has a narrow cream colored border and a dark brown portrait frame surrounding the image. The titles are in Italian and are centered in the bottom of the frame, with the card numbers featured above.

This deck comes in a hand constructed cardboard box which opens like a book and is fastened with twine. The top of the box has the title card featured on it and the Museo’s signature hot wax seal decorates two corners. The deck is the same size and quality cardstock as another recent publication from Hermatena, Tarocchi Al Top, I Tarocchi di Bologna, which is a wonderful tribute to the city of Bologna, by the popular artist Mariarita Frazzoni. This large (6 x 9 inches - 15.24 x 22.86 cm) deck is probably not meant for doing Tarot readings, but is instead a rare collector’s set made in homage to the great works of Boldini. Each special edition is signed by Morena Poltronieri and numbered. Only 30 sets will be made available.
