22 Major Arcana cards Created by 22 Artists. Description: This is collaborative deck by 22 European artists (mostly Italian). It has wonderfully imaginative interpretations and fantastic imagery. Each artist chose a work of literature or popular fiction (by Italian authors, as well as other countries) that inspired their interpretation of the card. The card title, book name and card number are displayed (in Italian or English) on the card. Many of the choices are profound, while others are startling or touching. The artwork consists mainly of paintings, pen & ink, photography, collage or mosaic. The artistic styles are diverse and yet create a sense of cohesiveness within the deck. Some of the books chosen by the artists are recognizable as popular international works of fiction. Others, while less well known by non-Italians, sound intriguing. Each card was made specifically for this unique deck and the original artworks can be found in the lovely Museo dei Tarocchi, in Riola Italy.
More sample cards with additional notes in English (regarding the artist's literary pics and the author's country of origin when available) can be found on Arnell Ando's site here: More info on each artist including their art for this deck and samples of their previous work can be found on the Museo dei Tarocchi site here:
